About Mark Paddon
Mark Paddon is a dual qualified Building Surveyor, member of the CIOB UK (Chartered Construction Manager) and member of CAATIE Spain (Arquitecto Tecnico).
Mark graduated from Sir John Moores University Liverpool in 1992 with a 1st class honours degree in Building Surveying and prizes for best student and best dissertation.
Mark has worked and lived on the Costa Blanca Spain since 2002, preparing buyer’s structural surveys and expert witness reports for successful building defects related court actions, surveying a diverse range of properties from conventional villas and apartments to luxury Marbella mansions and inland cave houses.
He also provides expert technical reports for leading insurers and lawyers (covering southern Europe, including Spain, Portugal, France and Italy).
Mark is a respected authority on property issues in Spain and has consulted for UK Channel 4, Channel 5 and ITV programmes, including ‘Homes from hell’, ‘Cowboy Builders’ and ‘Selling Houses abroad’, appearing in a number of episodes. He has also written numerous newspaper columns and contributed to Spanish property books (Including "How to buy Spanish property and move to Spain safely).
